Dr. Dean is a nephrologist who provides care across the full spectrum of kidney health, from early kidney disease to advanced and complex conditions. His clinical interests include chronic kidney disease, resistant hypertension, kidney stones, and care for patients using peritoneal dialysis.
He brings a steady, thoughtful approach to care, focusing on clear guidance and helping patients understand how treatment decisions fit into their overall health and daily lives. He has been part of Kidney Specialists of Minnesota since 2015.
Originally from South Dakota, Dr. Dean volunteered with the Peace Corps in Ecuador prior to medical school, an experience that helped shape his perspective on service and patient care. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking. Dr. Dean has been recognized for his clinical and teaching excellence, including receiving the Specialist Teaching Award from North Memorial Family Medicine Residency, serving as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at HCMC, and being named a Top Doctor and Rising Star by Minneapolis–St. Paul Magazine.
