Dr. Poor is a nephrologist who provides comprehensive care across all stages of kidney disease. He believes a critical part of being a physician is serving as a teacher and spends significant time helping patients understand their kidney health, how other conditions affect kidney function, and what their lab results mean. He values the doctor–patient relationship as a privilege and finds the greatest reward in building long-term relationships with those he cares for. Dr. Poor has been part of Kidney Specialists of Minnesota since 2003.
Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Dr. Poor is married and has three adult children. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, golfing, spending time outdoors, traveling with his family when possible, and relaxing at their cabin in Wisconsin.
